About this Blog.

You made it!

You found a blog by an OT student!  At CastCure, I don't offer behavioral "fixes" designed to dog train you into being a perfect specimen.  You are a complex design of skeletal framework and musculature packed with biorganic organs.  Further, you have made it this for in your brain-driven, meat suit to unlock your identity, sense of personal purpose, and higher consciousness.  I advocate for supportive environments and resources to enhance who we already are beyond those generalized things which make us human beings.

I live with PTSD, MDD, nightmare disorder (a form of parasomnia), and chronic pain. These conditions can have a tremendous impact on daily functions and include neurological difficulty, memory loss, headaches, financial struggle, poor physical health, chronic pain, homelessness, damaged relationships, and the development of other psychiatric conditions. Through this blog, my hope is to share my experiences and stratagems for living with a different brain, a different mind.  I try to compose my ideas in such a way that these things might be modifiable to your own life purpose.  Try it, remix it, and learn from your own experiences. Please remember, don't try too hard. There is more to you than this.

HINT: If it's in purple, maybe you can find where I got the quote!

PTSD results after a traumatic event and exists as an unprocessed series of memories. Symptoms vary: intrusive memories, avoidance, negative thoughts and feelings that are pervasive, arousal or reactive symptoms.

Wear it like armor.

MDD is a condition characterized by persistently depressed mood, loss of interests, and impairment of daily life.

Don't have negative thoughts.

Nightmare Disorder is characterized by frequent nightmares experienced during REM sleep at the second half of the sleep cycle. Nightmares often represent threats to survival, security, or self-esteem. They can result in repeated awakenings during REM sleep or naps with detailed recall of extended and extremely frightening dreams.

In my restless dreams...

While this blog certainly exists with the hope of sharing ideas, it does not replace medical/mental health professionals. and other licensed professionals.  If any of these symptoms persist in your own life, I hope you have the resources and external supports to seek additional help.  Fighting the stigma is one of the hardest parts. You're not alone.
