Avoidance.

Avoidance behavior can manifests for anyone via procrastination, passive-aggression, and rumination, and that's why stress management requires active coping skills for any average person.

For PTSD, avoidance is the largest obstacle to healing. Emotional avoidance, behavioral avoidance, experiential avoidance... Whatever it may be, it's our way of avoiding reminders of the trauma and therefore avoiding the potentiality of succumbing to the bodily distresses associated to that trauma.  Living a life on constant guard (hypervigilance) leaves us fatigued.  Now, that isn't to say we should eliminate content warnings and trigger warnings.  Such warnings may provide a way in which people can safely engage with sensitive topics. Instead of flooding someone with a topic matter that may spiral them into a harmful panic attack, I advocate for trauma-informed spaces for individuals to grow and evolve.
